The Spice House - Bay Leaves, Turkish Flatpack, 1/2 Cup

The Oracle of Delphi chewed fresh laurel leaves for divine inspiration. When dried, they make for inspired sauces, stews, soups, and curries. We chased the bay leaf around the world and decided the large, fragrant Turkish variety is our favorite. Spice House owners Patty and Tom Erd had been married for many years before Patty tried something new by throwing a few bay leaves in with her roast pork chops. She received the supreme compliment from her husband: "What did you do? These are as good as my Mom's!" Remember: When ordering bulk bay leaves, as well as herbs, these are very lightweight. One-half ounce of these bay leaves is approximately 1 cup in volume.
